性状：白色鳞状粉末。酿酒酵母提取。催化剂（Activators）：Hexokinase requires Mg2+ ions （KM = 2.6 mM） for activity. Hexokinase is activated by catecholamines and related compounds；抑制剂（Inhibitors）：sorbose-1-phosphate, polyphosphates, 6-deoxy-6-fluoroglucose, 2-C-hydroxy-methylglucose, xylose, lyxose, and thiol reactive compounds （Hg2+ and 4-chloromercuribenzoate）
用途：生化研究。为催化己糖6位上由ATP使之产生磷酸化反应的酶。对α－D葡萄糖的亲和性很高（Km=1×10－5M），对其他的己糖也可进行磷酸化。此反应的平衡向右偏移。△G°’=4.0千卡。该酶可被Mg2 、 K 所活化，但可被HS试剂阻抑。
